The Institute of Advanced Studies (ISA) of Europe’s oldest university, the University of Bologna, organized a workshop on “The Future of Democracy” [1]. A workshop on the topic of democracy and participation is by its nature multidisciplinary, involving mathematics, computer science, social psychology, and political science. Andreas Nitsche, board member of the Association for Interactive Democracy, will talk about project LiquidFeedback which has morphed into an international benchmark for participation on the internet, its mathematical background as well as new horizons for LiquidFeedback by its new geospatial approach, its integration with community engagement, information, participation and e-government platforms across Europe, and its commitment to the idea of the WeGovNow project - from e-government to we-government!
